Position Summary:
As an L2 Group Finance Director / Lead, you will be a key strategic business partner for the Sub-Group Leader/CEO. In addition, you will be responsible for providing support to Finance Teams in existing and newly acquired BUs. This support is hands-on in nature and will include detailed review and analysis of each BU’s financial reports for accuracy and compliance with company policies, training new team members and acting as the temporary backfill for the Business Unit Finance Director.
Main responsibility areas are:
Compliance & Financial Operations:
• Review and perform quality assurance of all BU submissions, adding further commentary and analysis.
• Support accounting operations (ex. journals, reconciliations, transfer pricing, accruals) as needed to ensure timely close of the books
• Coordinate and address internal and/or external audit queries. Ensure compliance with local statutory and tax requirements.
• Be the superuser for existing financial systems and reporting tools, responsible for training team members. Identify new analytical tools for implementation.
Business Partnering & Strategy
• Ownership of the Sub-Group financial forecast to ensure that forecast accuracy is within +/-5%.
• Provide financial and management reporting and analysis of the Sub-Group and BU performance
• Identify issues and propose opportunities for operational improvements. Monitor the execution of improvement plans arising.
• Be a key partner in the financial integration of new acquisitions, providing resources, training, and ongoing support during the strengthening phase of onboarding a new acquisition.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with Finance and BU Finance teams, and Group personnel
People Leadership:
• Provide training to new Finance leads and teams on the Group’s financial performance management principles
• Act as an extension to the Finance teams of the BUs when required, to ensure all deliverables and reports are submitted timely.
Other Activities:
• Attend management meetings, annual events, and other activities directed by the BU Leader.
• Help create a culture of learning, trust, and self-improvement.
• Any other duties as required.
Key Skills & Competencies:
• Accounting Qualification (CPA)/ CA / CIMA
• Solid technical knowledge of IFRS, particularly IFRS 15/ASC606.
• Hands-on mindset; comfortable preparing and reviewing reconciliations, posting journals, and preparing working papers.
• Advanced Excel skills required, and in addition experience in NetSuite, SAP BPC, Blackline, Salesforce, Cloudcoach (project tracking), would be an advantage.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple shifting priorities in a fast-moving environment. Is very organized, does not need to be chased.
• Comfortable creating and delivering presentations on performance.
• Attention to detail and accuracy is a must.
Work Experience Requirements:
• 8+ years post qualification
• Software and/or telco industry experience an asset.
• Experience in industry working in a multi-entity, multi-currency finance function.
• Experience with acquisition accounting and integration activities is beneficial
• Willingness to travel 10% of the time, both locally and internationally, sometimes on short notice
